Department: Respiratory Therapy
Unit location: 3rd floor, Tower A
Number of beds: 368
Number of staff: 34 Respiratory Therapists
Patient ratio: 36 units of service (UOS)
Equipment used: V60, Hamilton C1, PB40, PB980, Metaneb, EPOC ABG system, Nitric Oxide delivery, AIRVO
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech

Typical Procedures

Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis
Ventilator management
Nitric Oxide management
Bronchoscopy assistance
Intubation assistance
Nebulizer treatments
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy

Schedule

36 hours per week
Rotating weekends
Floating to all hospital areas as needed

Required Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Care Practitioner experience within the last year
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC, NRP, PALS
ICU experience, including Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience
Experience with Nitric Oxide therapy
