Dietician - Nutrition

Overview

• Travel assignment in Cypress, Texas
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Unit has 217 beds
• 3 FTEs on staff
• Day shift coverage includes 3 dietitians daily, with on-call Saturdays and no Sunday coverage
• Patient ratio: 1:75
• Uses laptop and imobile
• EMR: Meditech Expanse
• Rotating on-call: Saturdays only
• Must be willing to work at other HCA facilities in person or remote

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or an equivalent field
• Registered Dietitian
• Valid RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist license in Texas
• Dietician Certification
• RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (1 year of experience)
• RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

• Two+ years hospital clinical nutrition experience
• Experience with nutrition support

Role Responsibilities

• Perform timely nutrition screenings and assessments
• Perform nutrition focused physical exams for patients at nutritional risk
• Identify patients at nutritional risk
• Evaluate age-specific, developmental, and disease-specific nutritional needs
• Develop and implement individualized nutritional plan of care
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions
• Identify patient nutrition education needs and provide nutrition counseling to patients, family, and/or caregivers
• Participate in the competency assessment process and achieve a passing score of 80% or higher on RD chart audits
• Follow nutrition care guidelines, the nutrition care manual, and department/facility guidelines and/or protocols
• Integrate the Academy Code of Ethics in all areas of practice
