Overview

• Travel assignment in Thousand Oaks, California
• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week

Unit

• Labor & Delivery
• 9 LDRs and 4 additional beds for triage and outpatient testing
• Floating area: Mother Baby

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• 2 years of fetal monitoring experience
• C-section circulator experience
• Vaginal exam skills
• Obstetrical emergencies management including obstetrical hemorrhage
• Care of the newborn within the first hour of life including breastfeeding and initial latch
• Antepartum experience
• Post Partum experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrub experience
• NCC certification in Ip-Ob or EFM

Procedures / Clinical Focus

• Labor and Delivery management, including vaginal exams
• Outpatient testing: NST, CST, BPP
• OB Triage, OBED, MSE
• Versions
• Cervical cerclage
• OP injections

Work Environment

• Day shift includes a Clinical Nurse Coordinator or Charge RN, 4-5 RNs, 1 Meal Break RN, Ob Tech, and Unit Assistant
• Night shift is the same
• Patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3
• Equipment includes hospital beds, GE Novii and wired fetal monitors, and OR equipment
• EMR: CPN/Meditech
• Dress code: Navy scrubs
