Position Overview
- Neuro-focused PCU, 4 West neuro, 4th floor, Building SDMC
- 8 beds; 2-3 nurses on staff
- Patient ratio: 1:4 in PCU; floating to med-surg areas (ortho/neuro and elsewhere in the hospital) at 5:1 or 6:1
- Equipment: GE hardwired monitors in 4 rooms
- Permanent positions available on the unit
- Weekends: every other weekend
- Unit has a charge nurse shared with the main neuro unit
- Scrub color: navy blue
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of Neuro PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
- Experience working with cardiac patients
- Experience with titratable drips
