Overview

• Travel assignment in Payson, Utah
• Unit name: NICU
• One building
• 5 beds, including 1 negative pressure room
• Takes babies up to 30 days old
• Level 2 NICU

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• 3 shifts a week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Utah
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
• NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
• BLS
• NRP
• STABLE
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in a hospital setting

Preferred / Helpful

• Experience with NICU and mother baby
• Ability to train to mother baby

Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1:1 for CPAP; otherwise 1:2, occasionally 1:3 for feeder growers
• No ventilators; vented patients are transferred
• Equipment includes OGs, IVs, Hi Flow, CPAP, PANDA warmers, and Giraffe warmers
• Performs surfactant, occasional UVCs, and a few chest tubes
• No surgeries on the unit
• Documentation system: CPN

Floating / Assignment Scope

• Primarily works mother baby
• Works NICU when NICU babies are present
• NICU and mother baby are close together and staffed together
• No secretary for NICU
• Tech support is available for women’s services

Additional Notes

• Wine-colored scrubs are required
• Delivery volume is about 30–40 babies per month
