Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care Unit

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Ambulatory Care Unit (Cardiac Clinic focus)
• Shift: 4x8 hour variable day shifts between 04:45 AM - 9:00 PM
• Hours: Guaranteed 32 hours per week (except holidays when unit is closed)
• Float Requirements:

  • Possible float to inpatient units if no overnight patients in Ambulatory Care Unit
  • May float to nearby facilities if needed
• On Call/Call Back: Low census call with minimum 2-hour callback
• Weekend/Holiday: No weekends; work every other holiday

Requirements

• Education: BSN or ADN
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • RN license
  • ACLS
  • BLS
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in specialty (Ambulatory Care/Cardiac Clinic)
• Skills:

  • Cardiac clinic experience required
  • Pre/post-surgical cardiac experience
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
• Other:

  • Must be resilient, adaptable to change, and socially skilled

Unit Information

• 27-bed unit
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 3 patients
• Patient types: Pre/post cardiovascular surgical and procedure care, including heart catheterization, interventional vascular, electrophysiology (EP), transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), and structured heart care

Additional Notes

• Traveler must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Scrub colors: any color allowed
• Guaranteed hours may not apply during orientation week or holidays when the unit is closed
