Job Description
Provide nursing care under general supervision to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex on a med/surg unit. Responsibilities include:
- Managing an assigned group of patients
- Documenting patient responses and changes in physician orders
- Assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administering medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products
- Delivering competent patient care and communicating care plans to patients and families
- Making referrals for patient care needs and delegating tasks to support staff
This position is on a mixed stepdown and acute care surgical floor caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing evaluation. Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery.
Note: This is not a PACU or OR position.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Level 1 experience
- One completed travel assignment
