EEG/Sleep Tech
Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift:
- 12-hour day shifts, Wednesday to Friday (06:30 AM - 07:00 PM)
- On-call: 1 call per week and 1 Saturday call per month
- No weekend shifts regularly scheduled
Job Summary
- Prepare patients and equipment under supervision to perform EEG and evoked potentials examinations.
- Instruct and prepare patients and equipment for tests.
- Perform EEG and Evoked Potential testing on patients of all ages, either in the EEG Department or at the bedside.
- Select recording parameters based on patient diagnosis or complaint.
- Record and analyze data; assist in preparing results for physician review.
- Study wave characteristics during tests to detect brain disorders.
- Complete checklists, write narratives, and enter data into computer files as appropriate.
- Transcribe and process physician orders accurately according to policy.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- May float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years prior experience as an EEG technician.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends if required.
- Regular attendance during scheduled business hours or shifts is mandatory.
- Certifications (one of the following):
- Board of Registered EEG Technologist (ABRET)
- Certified EEG Technician (CET) registry
- BLS (AHA) certification required.
