Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, rotating days)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on patient and family needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
• Anticipate discharge needs and assist in discharge planning.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
• Communicate effectively within the healthcare team and with patients/families.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Engage in professional growth activities and meet learning needs.
• Apply research findings to clinical practice.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• Demonstrated cultural competence in patient care.
• Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice.

Work Schedule & Additional Information

• Included in call rotation: one call weekend every 3rd weekend and 2 nights during the week.
• Shift length: 12 hours per day.

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
