RN Progressive Care Unit

Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina Employment Type: Clinical-Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Bedside point-of-care testing as required by the patient care plan
• Patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination with the interdisciplinary team
• Participation in unit goals and performance improvement activities
• Following nursing standards, policies, and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• One (1) year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
