Registered Nurse - Operating Room (RN-OR)

Location: Bakersfield, California
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing Travel
Shift: Day
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Independently provides nursing care to acutely ill patients in the Operating Room under nurse leader supervision.
Performs nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic care.
Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Prioritizes nursing actions using clinical judgment and critical thinking.
Responds quickly to changes in patient status and activates emergency protocols as needed.
Adheres to infection control policies, medication administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Participates in professional development, staff meetings, and nursing governance activities.
Maintains compliance with nursing standards, ethics, and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Current American Heart Association certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Knowledge of advanced nursing theory.
