Job Opportunity: Surgical Technician

Location: Mason City, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 8-hour shifts, typically 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM (may vary by department)
• Mostly day shifts
• Every third weekend coverage required
• Call requirement: 10-12 days per month
• Holiday rotation as needed

Experience & Skills Required

• Neurosurgery experience preferred
• EPIC system experience preferred

Required Credentials & Compliance

Health & Immunizations

• COVID-19 Vaccine (including Sept 2025 booster) or approved exemption/declination (not accepted in CA or IL)
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer lab results
• Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start (titers not accepted)
• Influenza Vaccine: Proof or approved exemption/declination (not accepted in CA or IL) for flu season 10/1/2024 - 4/30/2025
• 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB (within 1 year for some states, 5 years for others)
• Varicella: Proof of 1 vaccination or IgG titer lab results
• Tdap: Current, non-expired vaccine required; declination accepted if no pediatric interaction
• Physical/Health Statement: Documentation from exam within last year confirming fitness to work
• Trinity Color Vision test

Drug Screening

• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (includes cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, PCP, benzodiazepines, methadone, and others; no THC)

Professional & Background Checks

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year
• 2 professional references
• Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) covering last 7 years, dated within 30 days of start
• Employment verifications for last 7 years
• Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED)
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check dated within 30 days
• OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check dated within 30 days
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registries check (within 30 days prior to start)
• OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions check within 30 days of start
• Trinity Integrity and Audit Services Form (signed shortly before start)
• Trinity Code of Conduct Form (signed)
• Trinity Confidentiality of Patient & Proprietary Information and System Security Agreement (signed)
• Trinity Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form (signed)
• Trinity Non Employee Upload Form (pages 1-3 and 28 completed and uploaded)
• Trinity System Access Form (completed and uploaded one week before start)

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association) certification current and uploaded (front and back of card)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
• NBSTSA Certification verification

Testing & Competency

• Trinity Skills Checklist (provided by agency for clinical contractors)
• Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing (specialty exam completed within last year)
• Trinity Joint Commission Testing (CORE exam within last year)

Additional Requirements

• Fit test may be required prior to start for certain Iowa locations

This position requires compliance with all listed health, professional, and credentialing requirements prior to onboarding.
