Job Opportunity: RN ICU
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- Every other weekend
- No on-call required
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner OneChart
- Uniform: Ceil blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- CPI or MOAB certification
- Completion of Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Successful completion of Ascension Specialty Exam
- Successful completion of Ascension EKG Exam
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding & Testing Requirements
- Completion of Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, completed within one year of start; updated annually)
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding modules
- Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip
Health & Safety Requirements
- Proof of immunizations and health screenings:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (optional; if declined, mask required during flu season)
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
- If positive, negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start; can be completed onsite)
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
- Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
Documentation & Verification
- Professional resume/profile required for submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, national sex offender registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Employment verification for past seven years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated after break in service > 90 days
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address requirements)
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
Additional Notes
- Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding
- Extensions require updated confirmation of assignment documentation
