Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: South Bend, Indiana

Position Details
- Role: Cath Lab Tech
- Shift: 5x8 hour shifts (0700-1530, late day starts at 0800)
- Note: 4x10 shifts are not accommodated
- Call Requirement: 1 night per week; every 4th weekend on call rotation
- Weekend Requirement: Every 4th weekend on call rotation
- Float Requirement: May float to Interventional Radiology if needed or if Cath Lab caseload is low
- Holiday Requirement: Holiday requests as needed by the department
- Additional: Late team rotation once per week to complete remaining cases; call and/or late mandate rotations as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Required skills include:
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Inpatient and outpatient procedures
- Pacemaker management
- Obtaining vitals
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- STEMI management
- Starting IVs
- Phlebotomy
- Rotablader and EP Ablations
- Pacemaker implants
- Coil embolization
Licensing & Certifications
- State License: Must be active by start date; pending state license accepted
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification)
- Testing: On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (includes cardiac rhythms review and pass/fail testing)
Contract Length
- Duration: 13 weeks
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in (required annually)
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts
- Physical exam
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
- TB questionnaire (prior to start and annually)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination prior to start (documentation required annually)
- COVID vaccine exemption forms if applicable (medical or religious)
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, photo for badge, and agency resource guide
- Completion of mandatory facility modules (~8-10 hours) prior to start
Charting System
- Cerner
This position requires flexibility with call and weekend rotations, strong technical skills in cath lab procedures, and compliance with comprehensive health and credentialing requirements.
