Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Covington, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Shift Details

• Weekend block schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 6:15 AM to 6:45 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Call requirements: 30-minute response time, 2-3 weekdays per month, plus 1 weekend 12-hour PM shift per month
• Holidays: As needed

Job Description

• Provide perioperative nursing care for surgical patients during day shifts, including emergency and add-on cases
• Work in a Level II Trauma Center environment with multi-specialty operating room cases
• Responsibilities include circulating duties, patient assessment, coordination with surgical and anesthesia teams, maintaining a safe and sterile environment, and adherence to AORN standards and hospital policies
• Ability to work independently during off-hours in a community hospital trauma setting

• Hospital provides scrubs
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit (not specified for this role)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
