EEG Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: El Paso, Texas

Shift: Day shift, approximately 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Yes
Call Requirement: Occasionally, depending on patient census
Floating: Not required

Job Description

• Provide EEG services with a focus on pediatric patients, including neonates, preterm infants, and children with special needs such as autism.
• Perform routine, sleep, bedside, and electrocerebral silence EEG recordings according to laboratory standards.
• Apply knowledge of intra-operative EEGs and at least one modality of evoked potentials under medical supervision.
• Gather comprehensive patient histories including seizure types, neurological symptoms, and medications.
• Accurately apply electrodes using the international 10-20 system and ensure electrode impedances meet standards.
• Recognize and manage artifacts during EEG recordings.
• Maintain patient safety and respond appropriately during emergencies.
• Maintain and troubleshoot EEG equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper function.
• Participate in conferences and technical meetings.
• Promote customer service orientation and comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications

• EEG Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with pediatric and neonate patients.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
