Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU
Location
- New Brunswick, New Jersey

Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday)
Job Description
- Provide respiratory care primarily in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Critical Care settings.
- Patient mix includes neonatal critical care and pediatrics.
- Responsibilities include blood gas analysis, ventilator/BiPAP/high flow initiation and management, code response, in-house transport, medication administration, and chest physiotherapy.
- Equipment experience required with Servo I & U ventilators and V60 BiPAP.
- Charting system used: EPIC.
- Floating between pediatric units (BSMCH Pediatric units and NICU) and possibly adult units on the main campus.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Neonate patients

Traveler friendly. Appropriate assignments, 1:2 in NICU, may get CPAP, NAVA, surgical kids. 1:3 or if very short staffed 1:4 in SCN, & they try to help. Occasionally float to PICU with appropriate assignments or Mom baby to take care of up to 6 babies.
