Work Schedule

Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
No block scheduling accommodations
Time off (RTO) allowed up to 5 days max, no more than 2 consecutive days
No RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday

Job Description

Position in a correctional facility setting
Mandatory floating within the facility as needed (floating required at facility’s discretion)
Charting system: Cerner
Scrub color: Navy Blue
Free parking available (first come, first serve)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum 1 year of correctional nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Recent acute care experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Requirements

Must provide a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license/state ID or US passport)
Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD; updated annually
Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, required annually; medical or religious exemptions require approval for PAPR use
Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually; chest x-ray and TB questionnaire if history positive
Immunizations/vaccinations required: Tdap (within 10 years or signed declination), MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer), Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B series or titer or signed declination
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - May 4)
Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; testing initiated within 48 hours of contract signing
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required for starts on/after 4/14/24
Color blind testing required for starts on/after 1/16/24
Competency exam required for starts on/after 4/14/24
