Overview

• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Job type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 16 weeks
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• Hours per week: 36
• Unit setting: Mixed-acuity surgical oncology unit caring for PCU and Med Surg patients
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• ONS Chemo

Unit Experience / Clinical Focus

• Surgical oncology diagnoses include breast, thyroid, melanoma, liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine, colon, rectal cancer, reconstructive breast cancer, and sarcoma
• Common procedures and treatments include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention and fall prevention

Scheduling / Work Expectations

• Staffing goal is 1:4, with possible ratios up to 1:5
• Weekends vary based on unit needs
• No set or blocked scheduling
• Travelers may be required to float within scope of practice
• Rotating day/night schedules may be assigned based on department needs

• EPIC charting is used
• Parking is available through multiple permit options at additional cost
