Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse

Location: Leominster, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Emergency Department (ED) with a psychiatric holding area
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Charting System: Epic
• Scheduling: Based on unit needs; no block schedules allowed
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday
• Shift Flexibility: Must be able to start 4 hours before or after scheduled start time due to critical department needs
• Float Requirement: Float between two nearby campuses

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Release (time sensitive)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County and National Criminal Searches
  • NSOR, OIG, and SAM checks
• Education Verification of highest completed education (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable)
• Physical Exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations or valid declinations for:

  • COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or declination)
  • Flu (seasonal vaccine or declination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B
• TB Testing: Two PPDs (one within 90 days, one within a year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days; positive TB requires chest X-ray and questionnaire
• Medication and Telemetry Exams: Must pass medication exam; telemetry exam required if working in telemetry-monitored units (not required for ED, Psychiatry, OR, Mother-Baby/Postpartum, NICU)
• EKG/Dysrhythmia Competency Exam required within 6 months of start and annually thereafter for acute care and critical care units
• References: Two references within three years of start
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills Checklist: Required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Notes

• July Return to Office (RTO) requests limited to 1-2 days only
• Start date must be on or before July 13
• No call requirements
• Candidates must be prepared for compliance attestation if background or iCORI hits occur
• Candidates must be flexible to float between two campuses as needed
