PICU Travel Nurse

Location

• Omaha, Nebraska

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Travel/contract role
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• Pediatric intensive care unit with mixed acuity
• Ratios: 1:2 in PICU, 1:3 in PCU, 1:4 in acute care
• 24-bed unit
• Travelers may be assigned as a rover/task nurse on inpatient units, including NICU, Labor and Delivery, and adult acute care

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending Nebraska RN license accepted; if not in hand at submission, start will be scheduled six weeks out
• 2 years of pediatric care experience
• BLS
• PALS
• Epic charting experience
• Must be more than 100 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3+ years of PICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Scheduling and Work Expectations

• May be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts
• Travelers do not self-schedule
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts plus a Friday day shift
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Requested days off must be included in the contract

Compliance and Onboarding

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check
• Education verification
• State registry search
• References from work within the past 2 years
• Annual skills checklist
• Physical exam
• Fit test
• Tdap/Tetanus vaccination within the last 10 years
• TB screening or chest x-ray documentation
• MMR, varicella, and hepatitis B documentation
• Drug screen
• Flu vaccination documentation or declination
• COVID vaccination preferred; exemption or declination accepted
