Cardiac PCU RN

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
36 hours per week
Contract length: 26 weeks
Every other weekend required
Floating required to like units; travelers must be flexible to floating
Unit does not accept first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Washington
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke Foundation
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke Foundation
NIHSS
Experience with open heart surgery patients
Experience with vascular surgery patients, including groin and radial band management
IV insertion skills
Experience with care and management of invasive lines
Experience with tracheostomy care
Experience with CPAP
Experience with BiPAP
Experience with chest tube setup and care
Experience with sternal precautions
Experience with blood and blood products administration
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

VAD experience
TAVR experience

Cardiac PCU
Myocardial infarction
Rule out MI
Primary arrhythmias
Pre/post open-heart surgery patients
Vascular surgery patients
Coronary artery disease
Heart failure
Pre/post cath lab patients with or without interventions
Stroke patients with cardiac involvement
Specialized structural heart support
Chest tubes
Sternal precautions

Skills / Procedures

Breathing treatments
Chest tube set-up/care
CPAP/BiPap
Trach care
Blood/blood products administration
Cardioversion/defibrillation
Epicardial pacer management
LVAD
Open heart 24–28 hours post-op
Tele interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
