Labor and Delivery

Role Overview

Travel/Contract RN in Topeka, Kansas
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:00–6:00
36 or 48 hour option
Unit accepts first-time travelers
Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted

Unit / Clinical Setting

High Risk Labor & Delivery Unit
Includes OB Triage, Postpartum, and Level 2 Special Care Nursery
Care includes laboring patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and diabetes
Procedures mentioned: C-Sections and External Cephalic Versions
Gestational age focus: 34 weeks 0 days and greater

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or RQI or American Safety and Health Institute
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
FHM

Certifications / Compliance Notes

ACLS required as applicable
PALS required as applicable
NRP required as applicable
CHEMO required as applicable
TNCC required as applicable
Management of Assaultive Behavior required as applicable
NIH Stroke Certification required as applicable
CPI required as applicable
Color Blind Testing required for all candidates
Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable
Competency Exam required as applicable

Additional Notes

E-Verify required for direct candidates; attestation required for sub candidates
Fingerprinting is required onsite during orientation for all travelers
Travelers may attend orientation and EPIC training pending fingerprint clearance, but cannot work on the unit until clearance is received
References are not required to clear candidates
