Overview

Travel/contract position in Overland Park, Kansas
Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
36 hours per week
Patient ratio: 1:5
Float pool role; no home unit
May float within scope to Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, and to other metro campuses as needed
Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS

Schedule and Availability

Weekend requirement: 8 weekend shifts in each 6-week schedule period
On-call not required
Block scheduling not accommodated
Requested time off limited to 7 days

Skills and Clinical Experience

Experience with MS/Tele, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown
Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
Telemetry unit monitoring
Pre/post cardiac cath care
Experience with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID
Special requirements include virtual nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS certification preferred
Experience with sheath removal
Feeding tube care and management
Accessing ports, blood product administration, and central line care/management

Location Policy

Local candidates not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
