Respiratory Therapist

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Fredericksburg, Virginia
• Night shift: 3x12s, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Floating is required within scope to adult units, ER, ICU stepdown, pediatric unit, and NICU as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• On-call required: 3 shifts per scheduling period
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
• Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• CRTT
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience

Preferred Qualifications

• RRT
• ED experience
• Adult ICU experience
• Pediatric unit experience
• Level II trauma experience

Work Setting

• Short-term acute care hospital
• Level II trauma center
• 431 staffed beds

Additional Notes

• NICU assignments vary by acuity; this is not a NICU-only role
• ACLS may be started pending, with 90 days from start date to obtain it
• Monthly department meetings are required when working; if not working, the candidate must review meeting minutes and acknowledge them to management
