Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: Adult ICU Cluster (Primary), Med Surg (Secondary)
• Patient Ratios:

  • ICU: 1:2
  • Med Surg: 1:4
• Schedule: Every other weekend, 50% holidays
• Floating: Required between Adult ICU and Med Surg
• Experience: Solid ICU experience in a large facility or academic center required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for ICU and critical care areas including Cath Lab, CCU, CVICU, ER, GI Lab, ICU, Neuro ICU, PACU, SICU, Tele
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER RNs starting 11/5/2024
• Other Certifications:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if applicable (not required for this ICU role)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) if applicable (not required for this ICU role)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) if working in Psych/Behavioral Health (not applicable here)

Licensure & Verification

• State RN License: Missouri RN license with primary source verification required within 60 days of start
• NURSYS Verification: Required within 60 days of start

Background & Screening Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start
• MO Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or MO Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days (cannot start with both pending)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 60 days
• International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing)
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap (within 10 years) or approved exemption
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B series or positive titer; no declinations accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31)

Documentation & Compliance

• Photo for badge (new candidates only)
• Employment application/resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days
• Two professional references within last 2 years
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Various facility-specific forms including confidentiality agreements, TB surveys, and employment eligibility forms

Additional Notes

• Floating between ICU and Med Surg required
• Must be able to work every other weekend and 50% of holidays
• First-time travelers accepted if they have solid ICU experience in a large or academic center
• Prior travel experience is NOT required for this assignment
