Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2-week period
• Weekends: Weekend call shifts required
• Call Schedule: 1 to 2 weekday calls (Monday-Thursday) per week, 1 weekend call per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) depending on staff
• Floating: Required to float between units, including Main OR
• Locals Accepted: No

Experience & Skills

• Years of Experience Required: 2 years (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• Required Skills:

  • Singular scrub per cardiothoracic cases
  • Ability and willingness to float to general OR
  • Quick learner and helpful attitude towards learning
• Unit Information:

  • CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, Minimally invasive valve, VATS, Mediastinoscopy, RATS, CVL support with carotid cutdowns and laser lead standby
• Required Specialty Skills:

  • General Surgery
  • Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery
  • Laparoscopic Surgery
• Preferred Specialty Skills:

  • OB/GYN, Plastic, ENT, Urology, Robotic, Orthopedics (including totals), Neuro/Crani, Transplant
• Flexible Endoscope Reprocessing:

  • Preferred experience with Bronchoscopes, EGD Scopes, EBUS

Certifications Required

• Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Preferred:

  • NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Drug Screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Fit Mask test required annually (N95 or equivalent)
• Respiratory Safety Clearance required annually for respirator use
• References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
• Employment Application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
• Skills Checklist updated annually (if applicable)

Additional Requirements

• Must complete Providence WorkRamp training modules as assigned (including regulatory, specialty-specific, and facility-specific modules) prior to start
• Must comply with Providence floating policy (may be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
• Must complete Epic training modules as required by Providence
• WA State specific background and registry checks as applicable
