Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Respiratory unit where pediatric patients may be on ventilators.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA Healthcare Provider required for all clinical positions.

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start.
• Sex offender registry check within 30 days of start.

• NURSYS verification required.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with passing score of 80% or higher (facility-specific exam on first day).
• Competency exam as applicable to specialty.
• 2 professional references required (Charge RN or above preferred).

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (required for Aya placements).
• Fit mask test within 6 months of start (specific mask types accepted).
• Tdap vaccine required within years of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable; updated every 2 years if contract extends beyond one year.
• Annual TB questionnaire for Aya placements.
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 6 months of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-April).
• COVID vaccines preferred but not required as of May 2024.
• Respirator clearance or facility-specific respirator clearance form required within 1 year of start, updated annually.

Facility Specific Requirements

• Candidate must review and sign orientation guide, confidentiality agreement, and other facility policies (e.g., dress and grooming standards, harassment-free workplace, IT acceptable use policy).
• Completion of facility-specific medication test study guide prior to start.
• Completion of non-employee personal information sheet.
• Submission of medical or religious influenza exemption forms if applicable.
