Job Description

• Must be a registered dietician licensed to work in Montana
• Day shift
• Minimum 1 year of experience required in dietary services
• Facility is a behavioral/psychiatric state hospital
• First-time travelers are welcome

Required Experience

• Specialty experience: 1 year (highest requirement found)
• Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers are accepted)

Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Dietician license valid in Montana
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred but not mandatory
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification preferred but not required; training provided if needed
• State license primary source online verification

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam with minimum 80% score required
• Passing score on general competency exam required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• N95 fit test within 12 months of start, updated annually (cannot be completed onsite)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 1 year; if history of positive TB, negative chest X-ray and TB questionnaire within 1 year
• Evidence of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination if born after 1957; boosters required for low/equivocal titers
• Hepatitis B titer, declination, or vaccine series
• Varicella immunity or vaccination; booster if low/equivocal titer
• Negative 10-panel drug screen (not required annually unless expiring during contract)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination allowed during respiratory season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required at this facility; medical/religious exemptions accepted

Background & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Standard background check including SS trace, county searches (last 7 years), nationwide sex offender check
• Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Two professional references required
• Employment application required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required

Additional Information

• Facility is the only public psychiatric hospital in Montana
• Long-term contracted staff will be provided CPI training if needed
