Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Jefferson City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; 1st time travelers accepted
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC Provider card
  • NIH Stroke Certification (preferred, not required)
• Additional Certifications (as applicable):

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for relevant units
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for L&D, NICU, Postpartum, Nursery
  • CHEMO certification for Oncology (required starting 3/28/25)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required for ER RNs starting 11/5/2024
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) for L&D RNs
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs
• Licensure:

  • Valid Missouri RN license with primary source verification within 60 days of start
  • NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start

Job Details

• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Floating: Required
• Shift Requirements:

  • Ability to work assigned shifts fully
  • Ability to take call
  • Ability to work assigned weekends
  • Must work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
• Start Date: ASAP

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year background check within 60 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks within 60 days
  • International background check if candidate traveled outside the USA in last 7 years
  • Missouri-specific background checks (MO FCSR or MO Caregiver search) required within 60 days
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
  • Immunizations/vaccinations:

    • Tdap within 10 years or approved exemption
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B series or positive titer (declinations not accepted for new candidates)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (required during flu season)
  • Drug screening: Negative 7-panel within 60 days of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year (not required for some tech roles)
• Other Documentation:

  • Photo for badge (new candidates only)
  • Employment application/resume with 7 years of employment history, no gaps over 30 days
  • Two professional references within last 2 years
  • Skills checklist updated annually

Additional Notes

• Floating between units is required.
• 50% holiday coverage during contract.
• Candidate must be able to work at the assigned location for the full contract term.
• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome.
