Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN - Nights)
Location: Towson, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled
Patient Population: Adolescents (Tanner score >4), Adults, Geriatrics
Unit Beds: 40
Patient Diagnoses: MS/Tele, Med/Surg-Oncology
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
Floating: Required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
On-Call: Scheduled on-call shifts not required
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Maryland RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- NIH Stroke Certification (must be updated annually)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., CHEMO, TNCC, PALS, NRP, EFM) - refer to unit/job description
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background Checks including 7-year criminal search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Education Verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Physical Exam within 1 year (including Latex Screen)
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year (3M N95 or equivalent)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Flu Vaccine or Medical/Religious Exemption (required during flu season)
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria) if working with children or newborns
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters
- Hepatitis B - Positive titer or declination (series not accepted)
- Negative Drug Screen (9 or 10 panel + Fentanyl) within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Two supervisory references within 1 year (one must be from a supervisor/manager, one can be a charge nurse)
- Employment verification for previous 5-7 years (attestation accepted if necessary)
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, badge photo, respiratory protection questionnaire, and job description acknowledgment
Additional Notes
- Floating within specialty and to lower acuity units is required.
- Holidays and every other weekend shifts are mandatory as scheduled.
- Candidates must complete competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
- Epic Portfolio Training Test Out available for eligible candidates.
- Facility requires timely completion of security ID application and confidentiality agreements prior to start.
This position offers a night shift opportunity on a specialized MS/Tele unit with a diverse patient population and a supportive nurse-to-patient ratio. Prior travel experience is not required, making it suitable for first-time travel nurses with at least 2 years of RN experience.
