Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Cardiac Cath Lab Tech - Days)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift/Hours: 4x10 hour days (07:00 - 17:30)
Job Description
- Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab with an average daily case volume of 15 across 4 rooms.
- Patient population: Adult and Geriatric.
- Common patient diagnoses include CAD, MI, post-cardiac arrest, pre/post-transplant, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, ASD, PFO, VSD, pericardial effusion/tamponade, pulmonary hypertension, pre-surgical cases, and various valvular diseases.
- Procedures performed include PCI, CTO, PFO closure, ASD closure, coronary atherectomy, pericardiocentesis, aortic valvuloplasty, septostomy, TAVR, Mitraclip, Triclip, IABP placement, Impella placement, ECMO placement, and coronary thrombectomy.
- Special equipment used: Impella console, IABP console, Shockwave, Boston Scientific IVUS/FFR/DFR, Acist, MedRad, Rotablader, Pneumbra, and various coronary wires/stents/balloons.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab Technologist experience
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- RCIS or ARRT certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender registry, OFAC, education verification, and international background checks if applicable.
Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted).
Physical exam within 1 year of start.
Fit mask test within 1 year of start.
Immunizations and titers required:
- TB testing (QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-step PPD).
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters.
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or declination (series not accepted).
- Varicella - positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap as applicable.
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required for 2025-26 season.
- COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking.
Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start.
Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start.
Verification of previous 5 years of employment history required (attestation accepted if necessary).
Maryland State Exclusions List check required within 30 days of start.
Facility Specific Information
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs (pink for trauma assignments). Pediatric department allows child-friendly tops with navy blue pants. Business casual allowed in some departments (no jeans, no open-toe shoes, no sleeveless tops, no shorts).
- Passport/badge style photo required.
- Confidentiality agreement and job description acknowledgment required prior to start.
- Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing.
- Epic Portfolio Training Test Out form may be required depending on prior Epic experience.

- Adult and Geriatric patients with complex cardiac conditions.
- Fast-paced cath lab environment with advanced cardiac procedures and equipment.
- Collaborative team environment with on-call responsibilities.

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Cath Lab Tech with RCIS or ARRT-R certification, requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2-3 years of specialty experience. The role involves working 4 ten-hour day shifts per week with on-call and weekend requirements, supporting a high-volume cardiac cath lab performing advanced interventional procedures. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific policies is mandatory.
