Job Opportunity: Case Manager - Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Type: Acute Hospital (Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma)
Shift: 5x8 Days (Shift times vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
On-call: No
Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)
Charting System: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of case management experience, including acute hospital case management within the last year
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Experience working with pediatric, neonate, and maternal-fetal patients
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Schedule & Time Off
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day
- Time Off Requests: Only 1 time off request per 13-week assignment, up to 5 days or less
- No holiday time off allowed for auto offer candidates
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks: Must be current within 45 days, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test (annual, travel only)
- Immunizations: TDAP, MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccine (or declination), COVID vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual update required)
- Respiratory safety clearance (annual for travel)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment history
- Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units
Facility & Training Requirements
- Modules: Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules required annually, including:
- Regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for Case Management
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care
- Epic Training: Must complete Epic training modules and provide transcripts prior to moving to paid status
- Floating Policy: Acknowledgement required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Badge Photo: Passport-style photo with neutral background required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be able to work weekends as scheduled
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Candidates must be willing to float within scope of practice
- Parking is free at the facility
