Job Opportunity: Monitor Tech (Cardiac Monitor Tech - Nights)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift:

  • Primarily 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) every other week
  • Manager may consider 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM; 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Holidays and every other weekend required as scheduled
  • Floating required to all specialties with cardiac monitoring and to sister facility as needed
  • No pre-scheduled on-call shifts

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Monitor Technician within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • CCI certification required
  • Strong experience in dysrhythmia interpretation

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Work night shifts primarily, with flexibility for other shift times
  • Float to other specialties and sister facilities as needed
  • Work holidays and every other weekend as scheduled

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on facility) within 30 days prior to start
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • TDAP (if working with children)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
    • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
    • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • TB testing: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year or 2-step PPD testing as per protocol, updated annually
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (not required for some specialties)
  • Facility-specific documents including dress code, confidentiality agreement, badge photo, and job description acknowledgment
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Verification of previous 5 years of work history

Additional Notes

  • Uniform: Navy blue scrubs (pink for trauma), with specific guidelines for pediatric and other departments
  • Candidates must sign confidentiality and job description documents prior to start
  • Epic training test-out available for eligible candidates
  • Floating and flexibility in shifts required

This position offers an opportunity for cardiac monitor technicians, including RNs with cardiac monitoring skills, to work in a dynamic hospital environment with a defined contract length and structured shift schedule.
