Job Opportunity: Step Down Nurse (ICU/Stepdown Unit)

Job Description

• Seeking experienced ICU nurses comfortable working in Stepdown, High Acuity PCU, or Mini ICU environments.
• Recommended for nurses with prior travel experience; not suitable for first-time travelers.
• Patient ratio typically 1:3 (ideal), 1:4 considered understaffed.
• Responsibilities include managing cardiac stepdown patients, post-op heart day 1 care, titrating insulin, cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Must be comfortable managing tracheostomies and arterial lines.
• Floating within scope of care may be required.
• EPIC electronic medical record system experience required.
• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
• Full contract length commitment required; no block requests or multiple submissions allowed.
• Local candidates are not considered.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona.
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Medication Administration by Delegation (MAB) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Comfortable titrating insulin, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips.
• Comfortable managing tracheostomies and arterial lines.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
