Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Ohio

Location

• City: Centerville, Ohio
• Facility: Med-surg unit with 24 beds caring for med-surg level acuity patients, including general surgery patients post GI and urology surgeries
• May float to a nearby main hospital (less than 10 miles away) if needed

Employment Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Hours per week: 36
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
• Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts due to low census during the contract and may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without penalty

Job Responsibilities / Unit Information

• Work on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU5) med-surg floor
• Care for patients requiring continuous bladder irrigation, NG and G-tubes
• May be required to float to other units as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Documentation and Compliance

• I-9 and E-Verify completed on required forms prior to start
• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, national and multi-state checks, and sex offender registry
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for duty and free of communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray; annual TB questionnaire if past positive
• Immunizations or immunity attestations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination series, titer, or declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen including marijuana panel within 12 months; lab confirmation required for positives
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
• Annual health questionnaire and candidate agreement fully completed prior to documentation due date
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year
• Two professional references within 2 years (one must be a manager/supervisor/charge RN) or 1-year work history verification if references unavailable
• Medical questionnaire for respiratory protection submitted prior to orientation
