Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have or have applied for an Oregon RN license at time of submission.
• Travelers will float between various facilities within Oregon, primarily in Silverton and surrounding hospitals.
• Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours, day shift (12N).
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage: One summer holiday and holiday eve (Memorial Day or July 4th).
• Patient ratios: Days and nights 1:1 to 1:2.
• Floating is mandatory; refusal to float as requested will result in contract cancellation.
• Travelers must complete any assigned education within one week of assignment.
• Low census mandatory cancellation terms apply (must cancel 1.5 hours before shift start; one mandatory cancellation allowed per two-week pay period without penalty).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oregon.
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) or AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or Relias Fetal Heart Monitoring certification.
  • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) Certification.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Required Background and Compliance

• Criminal background check with 7-year search including SSN trace, nationwide sex offender, county, federal, and international searches if applicable.
• Transcript/diploma verification as applicable.
• State-specific background checks as required.
• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year.
  • Annual TB questionnaire.
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination documentation.
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required annually).
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination.
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
• Respirator medical clearance annually unless no patient interaction.
• Two professional references required (supervisory or higher, within 3 years).

Additional Information

• Floating Acknowledgement form must be signed by all clinical candidates.
• Mandatory completion of assigned education and compliance checklists prior to start.

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery nurse with at least one year of experience, Oregon RN licensure, and the ability to float between multiple hospital locations within Oregon. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
