Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Job Description

• Position may float between units, including outpatient surgical center.
• On-call required to meet department needs (weeknights or weekends).
• Weekends required only if on-call.
• Expected patient ratio: 1:1.
• Special requirements: Proficient in scrubbing pediatric, ENT, and plastic surgery cases.
• 48-hour shifts are not approved.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Certified Surgical Technologist license in Washington
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Proficient in scrubbing pediatric surgery cases
• Proficient in scrubbing plastic surgery cases

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required and must be updated annually.
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
  • COVID vaccine or declination.
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests accepted).

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Education verification required.
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years.
• Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Various state-specific background and registry checks as required by Washington state law.

Additional Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background).
• Completion of required training modules via LMS platform (WorkRamp), including:

  • Annual regulatory requirements.
  • Specialty-specific modules for Surgical Tech.
  • Facility-specific modules as applicable.
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within reasonable distance.

Work Environment

• Charting system: Epic.
• No parking fees.
• Scrub color: Not specified for this role.
• May be required to work in a Level II Trauma Center environment.
