Correctional RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Redwood City, California.
• 13-week contract.
• Night shift: 5x8 hours, 23:00 to 7:30.
• Based in the Correctional Health Float Pool.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association.
• Any nursing experience except Home Health, Hospice, School Services, within the last year.
• Any nursing experience except Home Health, Hospice, School Services (1 year of experience).
• RN license must be in hand at the time of submission.
• State License 1 Verification within 30 days of start.
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
• Unit-specific competency exam.
• Annual Skills Checklist.
• 2 professional references within 3 years of hire.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• N95 fit test within 1 year of start.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years of start, or annual declination.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start.
• Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation.
• Hepatitis B titer, series of 3 vaccines, or declination.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• COVID-19 vaccination proof or signed declination.
• Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season.
• Jail clearance approval and fingerprint clearance if working at the facility longer than 90 days.

Preferred

• Full physician statement for the physical exam is highly preferred.
• For subs, either signed Lotus HIPAA form or Core testing is acceptable.

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting is required for anyone working at the facility longer than 90 days.
• If the candidate previously worked at the facility for 90 days or more, fingerprint clearance is required prior to start.
• The facility requires a surgical mask at all times in patient care areas/patient flu zones during flu season for candidates who submit a flu declination.
