Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Baltimore, Maryland
- Day shift: 3x12s, 6:45a-7:15p
- 36 hours per week
- General Operating Room position
- OR patient ratio: 1:1
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Block scheduling is not available
Schedule and call
- On call: 1 on call per week, plus 2 eight-hour weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- RTO: up to 14 days may be auto-approved; every other winter and summer holiday are required, and no RTO is approved for those holidays; no RTO on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day
Required qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid RN license in Maryland
- OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
- OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
- Experience with ENT procedures
- Experience with colorectal procedures
- Experience with plastic surgery procedures
- Experience with oral/dental procedures
- Experience with laparoscopic procedures
- Experience with gynecology procedures
- Experience with robotic surgery
- Experience with vascular procedures
- Experience with thoracic procedures
Preferred qualifications
- Teaching hospital experience
- Level I trauma experience
- ACLS
- NIH
- PALS
Unit details
- Department provides care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
- Supports advanced technology, minimally invasive techniques, evidence-based care, surgical education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- OR averages approximately 40 cases per day
