Job Description

The CT Technologist (RRT) performs specialized technical duties, including:

• Setting up computed tomography equipment
• Positioning patients and acquiring cross-sectional diagnostic images
• Providing computed tomography service coverage after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays
• Performing procedures on a variety of patients, including scheduled exams, inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality radiographic images through appropriate positioning and technical factors
• Operate CT scanner, power injector, and post-processing equipment
• Adjust protocols to meet patient needs
• Critique completed procedures for diagnostic quality
• Maintain a repeat rate at or below the national standard
• Communicate delays to patients and explain procedures
• Obtain thorough patient history and prepare patients for examination
• Assist in research at the technologist level
• Evaluate technical quality of images and manage data
• Assist the radiologist during invasive procedures
• Follow age-specific guidelines and practice positive patient identification

Qualifications

• Required:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered
  • Two-year allied health degree
  • 2 years of CT experience as an ARRT registered radiologic technologist
• Preferred:

  • Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT registry eligible)
