Registered Nurse - Surgery

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a surgical setting.
• Utilize the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Manage psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
• Meet professional competencies related to leadership and nursing standards.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
• Call Requirement: One weekend per month (approximately 7 days per month)
• Full-time position

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
• Operating Room (OR) experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
