Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Position

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel


Unit Information

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation unit with 41 beds
  • Staff includes approximately 15-20 therapy professionals daily (PT, OT, SLP)
  • Day shift requires 2 PTs; current PT staff includes 3 PTs and 3 PTAs
  • Patient load: up to 6 patients per day with a 6-hour treatment load during an 8-hour shift
  • Equipment used: ESTIM, patient lifts, transfer equipment, gym equipment, vital machines
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech Magic
  • New, state-of-the-art 41-bed inpatient facility with advanced technology and a full IADL kitchen

Job Description

  • Provide evaluation and treatment including daily therapy, gait training, neuromuscular reeducation, and caregiver training
  • Responsible for tracking therapy time/charges to meet the 3-hour therapy requirement per patient in inpatient rehab
  • Flexible hours with rotating weekends required
  • Hands-on clinician role with a team-player mindset

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Kansas
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation setting
  • Neuro certification or experience
