Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• 2 or 3 completed travel assignments
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• CPI
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Experience

• High-acuity, fast-paced, high-volume emergency department experience
• Experience working with 5:1 patient ratios

Unit Details

• Emergency department with 27 beds
• Typical staffing includes RN and medic coverage on day and night shifts
• Patient ratio: 4–6:1

Common Procedures / Patient Care

• RSI
• Sepsis interventions
• Stroke protocol with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Care of psychiatric patients
• EMTALA transfers to other facilities

Scheduling

• No on-call
• Weekend shifts are required within the four-week scheduling period

Dress Code

• Navy blue or white scrubs
