Location: Tishomingo, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Required Certifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• CPR
• BLS (can be completed during orientation)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in Occupational Therapy or New Graduate eligible
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with initial patient assessments under direction of O.T.R./L.
• Initiate initial treatment visits according to departmental standards
• Communicate with patients regarding treatment goals and methods
• Perform objective tests accurately and document patient care and progress notes
• Assist in establishing treatment plans and goals with O.T.R./L.
• Administer treatment modalities and exercise regimes professionally
• Assist with patient re-assessment at least every 2 weeks
• Use appropriate safety and infection control techniques
• Manage patient load according to department productivity measures
• Explain treatment procedures courteously before administration
• Provide written home instructions and educate family/caregivers on home care
• Maintain detailed documentation including interim, discharge, and daily progress notes
• Notify physicians of changes in patient status or treatment as needed
• Document changes in treatment if no progress after 3 visits
• Maintain daily attendance and patient charge records with 95% accuracy

• Unit has 15 swing beds
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Equipment: Basic gym equipment
• EMR system: EPIC
