Registered Nurse - Flex Pool - Nights

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical Unit, Surgical Acute Unit, and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit.
Work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15), scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation.
No guaranteed hours.
Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.

Unit Details

Medical Unit: 77 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:8 at night.
Surgical Acute Unit: 18 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6.
Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds, nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4.
Ratios may vary due to unexpected leaves.

Required Qualifications

Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment.
2 to 10 years of nursing experience.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC.
Medical and religious exemption requests for immunity documentation will not be accepted.

Orientation & Additional Information

Orientation provided for each unit.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday.
Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).

Schedule

Night shifts, 12 hours each.
Scheduled 36 hours per week following orientation.
