Job Opportunity: Cardiovascular Unit Nurse (Contract)

Unit Overview

• 30-bed Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)
• Provides medical, pre-operative, and post-operative surgical care
• Patient acuity: Medium to high, with complex co-morbidities
• Patient population: Young adult through geriatric
• Common diagnoses:

  • Cardiac conditions
  • Pre/Post cardiac artery bypass surgery
  • Carotid endarterectomy
  • Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI)
  • Post pacemaker insertion
  • Arrhythmia detection
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Pneumonia and similar disease processes
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: Maximum 4 patients per nurse

Requirements

• Current California RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• EPIC charting experience
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience

Additional Information

• May float to other units including Med/Surg as needed
• Med/Surg and Critical Care RNs are required to float
• Agency staff must be W-2 employees of their agency
