Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Unit (Adult Geriatrics & Pediatrics)
Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving both adult geriatrics and pediatric patients.
- Staffing Ratios:
- Non-COVID patients: typically 4:1, max 5:1
- COVID patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1
- May assist with Flu Immunization clinics as needed.
- Expected to attend staff meetings.
- Occasionally float to other qualified departments, either taking patient loads or performing task-oriented duties (e.g., answering call lights, phones).
Shift Details
- 12-hour shifts
- Shift assignment may vary; flexibility required to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Required Experience & Certifications
- Minimum 3 years med-surg nursing experience.
- At least 1 year pediatric nursing experience.
- Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients.
- Certifications required:
- American Heart Association BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
Orientation
- Orientation sessions held on Mondays only.
- Missing compliance deadlines will delay orientation to the following Monday.
