Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (WOCN Specialty)

Location: Columbus, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses (WOCN) provide expert care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence issues. This role involves responding to acute and rehabilitative needs related to gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. Care includes managing abdominal stomas, wounds, fistulas, drains, pressure injuries, and continence disorders. The WOCN also serves as an educator, consultant, researcher, and/or administrator in various care settings including acute care, long-term care, home health, and outpatient.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• WOCN Certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Some limited weekend call required
• Every other week RN orientation during initial period (orientation hours do not guarantee regular hours)

Job Details

• Will not float to other units, but will address skin issues for patients in all inpatient units including ICU, Step-down, and Med-Surg
• Unit includes 1 ostomy outpatient bed and 215 inpatient beds
• Dress code: Scrubs preferred; business casual acceptable
• Orientation includes EMR training and hands-on training with current WOCN staff

Equipment and Systems

• EPIC EMR
• WOCN Cart with dressings for wound care
• Ostomy Cart for ostomy care

This position is ideal for experienced WOCN nurses seeking a focused role in wound, ostomy, and continence care within an inpatient setting.
