Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - MedSurg

Location: Garrison, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: ED/MedSurg Swing
• Number of Beds: 22
• Patient Ratios:

  • Acute: 1:4
  • Swing bed: 1:6
  • ED: 1:4
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7a-7p and 7p-7a)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call/Standby: Flexible time
• Floating: Will float to ED; may also work charge nurse shifts
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg and ED nursing experience
• Must have charge nurse experience (clinician may work charge)
• RNs are required to titrate drips (normal titratable and set rate drips)
• Experience with common diagnoses and patient types in MedSurg and ED
• Familiarity with respiratory equipment such as NEBS, O2 nasal and mask; Ventilator use limited to ED and transport; CPAP may be used if brought in by swing bed patients
• RN reads telemetry strips in ED

Additional Information

• No clinical involvement prior to assignment within 50-mile radius rule
• Cannot have worked permanent or PRN at this facility within the last 12 months
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Charge nurse or house supervisor role available

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license for North Dakota
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• At least 1 year of MedSurg and ED nursing experience with charge nurse skills

This position does not require prior travel experience.
